A fast growing Conversion Optimisation (CRO) agency is looking for a digital delivery manager/project manager to take the concepts/outlines for A/B split tests and to work with our development team to successfully deliver them. We help companies large and small to improve their website and sales by applying psychology, research and usability techniques, then testing our changes. This is a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of interesting websites with a world expert in conversion optimisation.
This is a part time & flexible role of 20 hours per week (4hrs/day) and is offered on a Contract basis. The role is remote/home based.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating Test Plans (specifications for split tests. We’ll brief you on the aims for a test and provide wireframes and designs. You will write up the detailed specifications for the developers. You’ll use your initiative and understanding of the client’s site to turn general ideas (e.g. add an element near the top of the 20 pages on the site with the highest traffic) into the detail needed for developers (lists of pages and specific locations on the page to add the element).
- Working with developers to get tests built. You’ll provide the test plan to one of our remote developers and work with them to answer any queries. You’ll also set up new tests in our testing tool.
- Acceptance testing. When a test has been built, review that the work matches the design and functionality requirements in the test plan. Log any issues with the developer and discuss solutions.
- Cross-browser testing. Test solutions across multiple browsers and devices using the Cross Browser Testing and Browserstack tools. For bigger tests, prepare test scripts for the QA team and work with them and developers to resolve any issues
- Deal with client change requests/issues. Take change requests from clients and work with developers to specify the changes needed. Address any issues with live tests – if a client reports an issue, recreate it, verify if it is coming from our changes and work with the developers to resolve it quickly
- Set up and update standard reports in Google Sheets and Google Docs. We maintain a number of standardised reports for tests. You’ll need to enter the details for tests check that reporting is working correctly and update weekly documents for clients with details of new tests.
- Grow the role within the business. If you are successful in the role, there will be many opportunities to get more involved in the business including analysing data, reporting on A/B split tests and managing the developers and QA team.
Working hours/approach:
We need someone who is available to keep projects moving and to respond to client issues so you will need to be available for a minimum of 4 hours each working day between 9am and 6pm
About you:
- Practical, problem-solving approach. We want someone who tries to find ways around issues and is comfortable working independently.
- Basic understanding of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, the DOM and browser developer tools. You don’t need to be a coder, but will need to be comfortable with recreating issues, getting diagnostics information from the browser and working with the developers.
- Great attention to detail – able to identify where split tests don’t run as specified and to raise these issues.
- Excellent communicator – friendly and easy to work with and explain and document issues clearly and concisely.
- Pragmatic – our work is all about getting the most value for clients. Recognise when there is a simple, but not perfect, solution to a complex issue and balance the need for quality with practicality.
